It’s not hard to see why Gulf Shores’ own Hangout Music Fest was just awarded “Music Festival of the Year (non-touring) “  By Pollstar.  The Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores Alabama keeps ramping it up!  Yet another hot announcement released yesterday to add to the Hangout Music Fest’s lineup!  There had been rumors circling about the Red Hot Chili Peppers being added to the already Red Hot lineup.  Yesterday the Hangout Music Fest made it official.

With Dave Matthews Band already set to play, (now the only announced 2012 DMB date thus far), and now the addition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, anticipation for the opening of ticket sales is exciting.  One wonders how quickly passes will go?  Only time will tell, as tickets become available for purchase once again tomorrow February 10th at 11:00 am.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers were forced to postpone the first leg of their 2012 tour when lead Anthony Kiedis injured his foot.  Some 23 tour dates from Jan-March were rescheduled.   Many Chilli Pepper fans that had hoped to see the band in New Orleans in February were forced to wait til October for the rescheduled date.  Now that the Hangout Music Fest performance has been announced, area fans won’t have to wait as long as once thought !

Enjoy some of the 2011 highlights while we anxiously awaiting ticket sales to open up:
